Exposing The Lies One Layer At A Time

National Geographic Explorer Cristina Mittermeier At Mesa Arts Center

Employees and volunteers from the Arizona Museum of Natural History talked with children about extinct animals and climate change before the amazing presentation by photographer, biologist, and author Cristina Mittermeier called Standing At The Water's Edge at Mesa Arts Center this morning. Her images of indigenous people, ocean scenery, and marine life are incredible and her presentation was inspiring. She talked about the importance of conservation and the need to protect our oceans. So glad to see the role National Geographic has taken in reaching out to the next generation about important issues, and I'm always glad to be a part of it when their speakers come here. I talked with children about trilobites and how climate change caused the Permian/Triassic Extinction Event 250 million years ago when 90% of species on earth died.
